Support letters tell a prospective donor that your project/program has community support and credibility.
Style
Make personal contact with people to ask them to write letters lending their support. In some cases a supporter might ask you to write a letter for them to sign, but this will be unusual. In most cases, you will not be able to control what the supporter has to say.
Letters of support need to be compelling. If the response is lukewarm, it would be better not to include it.
Elements
• General letters of support indicate broad based community support.
• Professional letter of support indicate that there is a need for your project/program.
• If money, equipment, facilities, consultants or any in-kind support is offered, have it put in writing and append it to this section of the proposal.
